Growl is a great little OS X application/API for allowing various applications to send snazzy little notifications to inform you of their progress. Lately, however, I've been spending more time in a Linux environment and have been missing out on Growl's mutterings. To my delight, some good soul seems to be working on a version for Linux! Very nice.
